Free Income Tax Preparation in Florida is available for families whose total family income is $49,078 or under (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance – VITA-sites). In addition, FPP partner members at AARP Tax-Aide for the Elderly free tax sites prepare taxes for Florida residents, with special consideration given to people who are 60 and older. The Tax-Aide sites will, however, prepare taxes for younger Florida residents as well as those whose incomes are above $49,078.

you must have:
- Earned income
- A valid Social Security number
- No more than $3,150 in investment income
- Joint tax-filing status, if married
- U.S. citizenship or resident alien status for the past year (in
most cases)

Individuals:
- $13,660 with no qualifying children
- $36,052 with one qualifying child
- $40,964 with two qualifying children
- $43,998 with three or more qualifying children
Married
couples filing jointly:
- $18,740 with no qualifying children
- $41,132 with one qualifying child
- $46,044 with two qualifying children
- $49,078 with three or more qualifying children
Maximum refunds for tax
year 2011:
- $464 with no qualifying children
- $3,094 with one qualifying child
- $5,112 with two qualifying children
- $5,751 with three or more qualifying children
